The article discusses a range of issues related to the implementation of an energy management system at enterprises in Kazakhstan within the framework of the ISO International Organization for Standardization project "Sustainable Development Standards: Support for national standardization bodies and their stakeholders in the adoption of individual ISO standards in support of the UN SDGs" (Standards 4 Sustainability). The goals and objectives of energy management, measures to improve energy efficiency, characteristics and key elements of the system, problems of implementation and project recommendations are considered.
